Domaine Les Hautes Noëlles

Loire, France

A family property created in the 1930s (in a wine-growing area that has been producing since the 12th Century), the Domaine is located about 15km south-west of Nantes, on the shores of the Lac de Grandlieu, the largest natural lake in France. The Atlantic Ocean, only 30 km away, often shares its offshore breezes and you can easily imagine the taste of salt spray in these gorgeously mineral wines.

Juliane & Jean-Gabriel who became the next stewards of these vineyards in 2020 (ask us about their love story 'on the water') are continuing the organic farming legacy (certified since 2012) and are cutivating a rare diversity of grape varieties (melon, chardonnay, folle blanche, floréal, grolleau gris & noir, pineau d'aunis, etc).  Their philosophy? “In a world where Man seems to want absolute control of everything, the vine gives those who dedicate themselves to it a wonderful lesson in humility. There is what we understand about Nature, there is what we know about it without being able to explain it, and then there is the great unfathomable unknown.”
